Sam Ezersky is showing his age, and his hubris, but not including "bluing."

Yeah, that bugged me.

exactly ditto
vampire

Yesterday's -1 was "linguini."  Perfectly good word, but Never would have thought of it.

(Also among those who tried "bluing."  Hadn't thought of that in years and years!  And i'm indisputably old, but not old enough to have used bluing.)

Same, same.

when I was in first grade, I made a crystal garden with bluing.

QB-1.  I had about 48 or 49 words and I was stuck so I tried the SB Buddy for the first time. That was fun but I'm still short one word.

I got QB yesterday with the Buddy. I like to use it more than hints because it gives a clue about the meaning of the word. So if it's in my vocabulary, I'm going to be able to get it.

Just got QB!

Last word was a 4-letter "duh" that I just wasn't seeing.

QB -1 and just not seeing that last 7-letter word

QB yesterday with assistance from SB Buddy.  QB-3 today but still time to finish.

No Malbec or Lambic.

I noticed that too.

I learned the word decades ago when my friend bought an Alembic bass. It's only in the past few years I learned it's a copper still.

Ans fwiw, I don't think alembic is any more obscure than many words that are included in the SB.

And Alembic basses are beautiful instruments grin

Yesterday they did not include "capacitate" or "cavitate."

Yeah, I tried both of those, too.

Me too!

me too, though my final two words I had never heard of before.

Two spellings for bandana yesterday. Ugh.

I didn’t get there yesterday but made it today. Nothing too crazy in there today!
