Have you tried Payless? They carry dance shoes. I think there is one in the Livingston Mall.
Isn't there a place on Millburn Ave in Millburn across from the green church? Or do they just sell leotards
There used to be one on Millburn Ave but it's not there any more. If you want really good ones (especially if the student is up on toe) u may have to go to capezios in the city. Target sells ballet shoes but not toe shoes.
What age do you need shoes for? Do you know what size you need? DiscountDance.com is the best online retailer. I can help you figure out what style to order if you don't have instruction from the dance school. I think there is also a Capezio store in Wayne if you need to go in person and prefer not to go into the city
We used to go to Everything Dance at 242 Bloomfield Avenue in Caldwell
There is a dance school in Montclair, near Church st., Sharon Millers Academy for the arts. It has a modest store but they should have the size you are looking for: http://www.smapa.org/dance-store/
From ctrzwife (and the house of 1,000 pair from Repetto to pointe): if not Discount Dance As mentioned above, most good studios sell them (or can get them) and should have access to a fitter. Somewhat locally, Yvette's Dance Studio in Cranford sells them.
Maria Priadka on South Orange Ave in South Orange sells nice, reasonably priced ballet slippers. I had the same problem, and I didn't want to drive to Warren. The Target ones are not very good.
Can't seem to find a store less than 30 min away. Anyone know?
