The contrast become clearer and clearer - Republican sell fear and American Carnage - Democrats are more into hope and the American Dream.
What's even more pathetic is T****'s response on his platform that choked at the start of the speech.

Biden’s speech last night is getting “panned” all over the World. Only the Radical Left lunatics are trying to make the best of it. It took him 41 minutes to talk, briefly, about Immigration and the Border, on the topic of which he was very weak. No talk of weaponization against his very calm and nice opponent. Angry as hell, this guy is a PSYCHO!
The Story is that he got through it, he’s still breathing, and they didn’t have to carry him out in a straitjacket. Other than that, he did not do a very good job!
Again - zero substance - this guy is a six grader. But he did like the GOP response:

Could someone expand on specifically what T**** is talking about in regards to the "horrific devastation" President Biden and the party has created?

His speech is getting "panned" all over the world - like by who? From what I see - Russia didn't like the speech, but no other country really sticks out.
It was a very good SOTU. At least one of Biden's other SOTUs, I think it was last year's, was also solid which I acknowledged.
If he's like this consistently the next 8 months that should go a long way toward dispelling age concerns.
I have my doubts though. The SOTU was 95% scripted off a teleprompter. And delivering a good SOTU once a year doesn't take away the foggy and fumbling appearances -- and the lack of appearances -- in between.
Trump is talking about himself most of the time imo - projection projection projection - it all starts to make sense seen that way.
What's weird and disturbing is how many people identify with him. He's a confused, angry old man with a tenuous grip on reality and a bunch of people are like "yup, makes sense to me! He tells it like it is!"

Of course speeches are scripted. And those speeches are given using teleprompters. The same is true for both major party presidential candidates - Biden and Trump.
What's not scripted, and not on the teleprompter, are the asides and the "comebacks". Biden was pretty good on those last night, whether it was responding to the catcalls from the MAGA members of Congress, or the little ad-lib digs like this -

That being said, he's been singing this same song a long time. There are quite a few of these things. If it was so easy to accomplish he would have accomplished these promises by now.
Last night Biden complained that the tax code is unfair, teachers are not paid enough, the cost of college is too high, America needs more clean energy jobs, Russia is out of control, and that the cost of healthcare is too high.
Lol. The same Maze Moore that said Trump should pick Vivek Ramaswamy as VP, then all the comments said that either Vivek was a Soros plant or that Trump shouldn’t pick a “DEI VP.”

I did not watch the whole speech, so maybe I'm not being fair. I tried. I can't believe how much praise is given here for how Biden performed. To me he seemed like a focused robot reading a teleprompter. Did not inspire confidence. Can't imagine him doing a debate. Of course liberal corporate media fawned over his performance as usual.
His opening about Ukraine set a bad tone. He lied about Putin and the status of the war (the Russians have won and Putin has no intention of invading Europe) because he needs us to be on board for wasting more money on a pointless project when there are so many problems here. This is his priority, not the American people. I jumped ahead and heard him give a list of supposed accomplishments that even democratic fact checkers disagree about. I could not take anymore. I will try to go back and listen to the whole speech, but probably not today.
I still think he's demented, as is Donald Trump. We have two unacceptable candidates for president and that's appalling. The system is broken.

The state of the union is a constitutionally mandated document that needs to be supplied to congress "from time to time." There's no real rule saying that it has to be a speech, nor that the President needs to read it out to congress. In fact for almost the whole 19th Century, it was just delivered by mail and read out to congress by the clerk. So yeah, he's reading a teleprompter because that's the document he's obliged to provide. You can certainly take issue with its contents, or the delivery, but let's not focus on the teleprompter part. It's a document being read out aloud.
