Willie Nile -- greatest rock 'n roll star (in my book) no one's heard of -- including me, until I wandered into a "Rent Party", (driven by Soul Man, et. al.) at the Kof C right here in South Orange -- been captivated by him ever since.  Willie has an annual "Talk Like a Pirate Day".  Generally, this means inserting some version  of "AARRRRRGHHH" into every sentence.  But as Willie's become a bigger star here in the States, (he's played arenas & stadiums in Europe for decades), "Talk Like a Pirate Day" has grown into all kinds of events.  There's even been a "Talk like a Pirate Cruise"!  And even though his gigs are now often at fancy venues like Carnegie Hall, CBGB's (RIP), SOPAC and "The Troubadour", he'll stay after as long as necessary until everyone who want one gets a hug, a few minutes of his time, and a signed CD -- got to pay for those -- the man must make a living.  But you'll be glad you did.

Hey, we fwere improvising all the pirate talk -- imitating Captain Hook, et. al. Imagine what one of you guys who are willing to go near it (not me) could find through an AI search?!?

I saw him in NYC when he was first coming up (in the 80s).  Nothing not to like.  Good guy.  Seems to be around here a lot.  Glad he's still going at it.
