We're back at it!
Please join us this Saturday, April 20 from 8 - 11 AM at the South Orange Elks Rent Party Garden.
We had an incredibly productive day last week, but we are looking for volunteers to help us finish the job. There's still weeding and prep work to get the garden beds for the upcoming season. This will include topping off the beds with fresh soil.
We have the tools and the work usually goes pretty quickly.
We'll have coffee, water, and donuts for the folks who show up. Kids are welcome, but you have to take them with you when you leave.
We're excited about our 13th season of growing fresh produce for folks in need in our community.
Let's get busy!
We are still looking for a few more volunteers to help on Saturday morning. No gardening experience is required! We'll be weeding and moving soil into the beds. This is a great opportunity for your teenager who is looking for a little community service vibe.
Let's get busy!
READY. The South Orange Elks Rent Party is ready for our 13th season!
Thanks to all of our volunteers who pitched in the last two Saturdays to make this a reality. There have been a lot of changes to our team this season, but we LOVE this group of folks and it's going to be a special summer!

Is there more to do? I've had conflicts the last two Saturdays, but am eager to help. Not an experienced gardener, but I have two hands that I don't mind getting dirty and follow direction pretty well!
And I owe such a debt of gratitude to the Rent Party "gang" for all the "Battle of the Bands" shows in OLS GYM, and for allowing me the chance to walk into the Elks Club for a Rent Party gig -- I think it was 2009 -- to hear a guy I'd never heard of -- who just BLEW MY MIND. I still catch Willie Nile whenever I get the chance, and my daughter surprised me with tickets to see my pal Willie and the boys- who still pass through here when they['re not in Italy or Spain filling stadiums with adoring fans. I posted a picture of us together on Facebook when he graced us with a SOPAC appearance in early March.
So I am always ready to help those who granted me the honor of meeting this amazing person and his fantastic band, who I now consider dear friends. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help!!!
