overnight parking near Maplewood train station on weekends
I've done it once when I called the cops in advance and asked them politely not to ticket my car. Otherwise, well, they'll ticket your car.
That's if you're in a permit spot (and not in a NJ Transit lot).
The NJ Transit lots have different rules (as I found out when I called the Maplewood PD and asked not to ticket me for the last-minute overnight, and they told me the NJ Transit lots were monitored by NJ Transit, not them). The Maplewood NJ Transit lots don't allow overnight parking (although that one time I did leave the car there on a weekend night it didn't get a ticket-- so not sure if they actually monitor on the weekends).
However, it looks like for Mountain Station in S.O., the NJ Transit lots DO allow overnight parking:
