My second date with Rona. Didn't go as good as the first one.

I have 2 vaccine shots + 2 boosters. First booster was in September. I got Covid in December... no symptoms but tested positive.

2nd booster was in March. I got Covid probably this weekend. Tested positive. Symptoms mild but still present. I thought I would be ok because I had two boosters.

I probably got the virus on a SEPTA train ride to Philadelphia. The thing is, the train car was mostly empty except for the 10 of us in the group, going to the city. We sat away from each other on the train. Five of us tested positive.

So... my suggestions. Resume outdoor dining in restaurants or takeout. Avoid large indoor gatherings....parties, meetings, church, concerts and whatever I didn't think of.

My symptoms are not severe... slight headache from time to time, muscle aches, coughing. But still.

A new wave is spreading and we can expect new variations to pop up.

Be careful.

Sorry to hear. Train air circulation may be problematic. I would consider paxlovid treatment. Good luck with it.

Aww, that sucks. I echo Jasmo's words about Paxlovid.

The suggestions about Paxlovid are very good. Jerseyjack, the studies are showing that regardless of the mild symptoms take the pills to avoid the very real risk of long Covid.

Wife and I had it about 10 days ago. We only did home tests.

For the future, how does one get the Paxlovid?

PCR test and scrip from regular doctor?

I don't know that info, sorry. I would start with your PCP unless one is at an urgent care or higher, but then they'll likely have you connected faster.

Pax script comes from M.D. It is not readily given out. I pulled the geriatric card. Ya need to be old or immune compromised unless your physician is liberal with prescriptions.

My husband has one risk factor and got the paxlovid by calling his primary care. They phoned it to the pharmacy right away. He started feeling better within hours of his first dose.

I don't qualify as I am not quite old enough and am pretty healthy. I got Covid at the same time (ish) as my husband and was much worse than him, though not too bad all things considered. Like a bad cold / almost flu. I highly recommend contacting your doctor and get the paxlovid if you qualify (over 65 or some health conditions).

Yes I think there is another wave, probably a big one, and we aren't seeing it in the stats as people are taking the test at home. But suddenly lots of people I know have it or just got over it and I knew almost nobody who had it until now. IIRC we have been very careful, masking in public, don't eat in restaurants etc. We will keep doing that.

they are claiming this wave will peak in 1-2 weeks.  we have been recording about 4000 cases per day, but it may be closer to 40K.  only 10-30% of positive cases are recorded.  many people  don't even test at home.

7-day average in New Jersey is almost 5K.  I agree that it's underreported significantly.  I'm hearing about a lot of friends, colleagues, and acquaintances getting COVID.

I haven't found recent data from Essex County wastewater sampling but I've read that NJ is starting to do that. It's very important now that cases are being underreported. Boston is showing data indicating that there is definitely a wave.
