I think a quick fix is that we'll have a link to the main discussions page and a link to the subforum. (If you're in the subforum) Not a link to the category.
ok, if you're in a subforum - you'll have links to the main - which will be the forums main page - back to subforum or posts from the category.
I had noticed that when you click the Main Forum link after reading some stupid argument in one of the Political forum threads you still go back to the Political forum, not the Main forum. So this change will save ya one click. Thanks.

It was a meta commentary on how arguing politics often feels like going in circles.

Now THAT is pretty funny.
Hmm, I noticed that these buttons aren't working on mobile. Looking into this now. Are they working for anyone on mobile? I'm having issues on iphone.

At the top of the thread lists, there are the links to Main Forum | Politics forum. Here, the politics link is https://maplewood.worldwebs.com/forums/subforum/politics-plus
If you are browsing a thread in politics, the buttons above the add-comment section are "Return to all discussions" or either "Return to Russia and Alternative News related" or "Return to Soapbox: All Politics"
Return to all discussions will always link to https://maplewood.worldwebs.com/forums/subforum/politics-plus, but Return to Soapbox: All Politics links to https://maplewood.worldwebs.com/forums/subforum/politics-plus?&catslug=soapbox-all-politics while Return to Russia and Alternative News related links to https://maplewood.worldwebs.com/forums/subforum/politics-plus?&catslug=russia-related-category
What causes confusion that the visible threads differs based on that query string. If there's no query string, you'll see both "russia-related-category" and "soapbox-all-politics" threads. But if you have a query string, you only get the threads in that sub-category. So you can have a strange situation where you click "Politics forum", see the threads, click one of the threads, click "Return to Soapbox: All Politics" and are missing threads you previously saw. You might say, well just click on "Return to all discussions," but that implies (incorrectly) that you'll go back to the main forum, not to politics.
