I interpreted this to mean that the town would be participating in this program for town owned and/or operated properties. There is nothing in the e-mail to suggest that individual property owners (apart from the municipality) have a means of joining the program at this time.
Did anyone get a reduction in their PSEG bill this month? I'm on the equal payment plan and they reduced the monthly amount by $10 -- which virtually never happens. Sure, just when I'm moving.... LOL!

I received the below email from the Maplewood listserv today and it sounds great. But what exactly does "for new power supply contracts commencing in June 2015" mean? We've been getting PSEG service since we moved into our house over 3 years ago. Do the contracts automatically reset every June? Or do I need to do something to request to be a part of this new contract?
I think supporting renewable energy is fantastic. Actually, this reminds me that I need to look into Ethical Energy as a 3rd party supplier, as I believe they supply 100% renewable. I heard about them a while back and I believe they advertise that their cost is basically equivalent to PSEG...does anybody know if this claim is true?
"The Township of Maplewood is pleased to announce its participation in the Essex-Hudson Regional Cooperative Pricing System (EHRCPS) for new power supply contracts commencing in June 2015.
The Township is also proud to note that EHRCPS included an Enhanced Renewable Energy Product in the bid specifications and, as such, all Participating Members will be receiving power supply that has a 20% renewable energy component. Moreover this product has been coordinated with Sustainable Jersey (“SJ”) to assure that it will qualify Sustainable Jersey members for additional SJ points under their soon-to-be-announced protocols. As such, Participating Members of EHRCPS will realize cost savings while promoting sustainability ."
