I've been to this practice and would recommend a consult. You need to pinpoint the cause of your back pain. Sometimes, chiropractic manipulation just can't fix a bulging disc or something more severe. It can be very debilitating, I know. Good luck. What does your primary care physician say?

At the very least, for the diagnosis, they are great. I was in so much pain, I could barely walk. Dr. Schaeb diagnosed me with degenerative disc "disease" and recommended yoga, not surgery. After more than four years, I've never regretted that visit. I am stronger than I ever was and I rarely have back issues, or at least not more than for a day or two. What I liked is that hedidn't immediately jump to the surgery route...
Mr. Lizziecat is going to the Spine Center now, for back pain that he has had since his early 20's. He finally decided to get help--after 50 years, but that's a subject for a whole other thread--or a book. In any case, he's doing physical therapy with them, and he says it helps. Mirabile visu! If they can help him, they can help anyone.

I've had terrible lower back pain for years, it went away during pregnancy and is now back. I need another solution than a chiropractor....any recommendations for a Dr who specializes in back pain?
Healing Back Pain: The Mind-Body Connection by Dr. John Sarno.
It's worth a read.
I have intermittent lower back pain due to degenerative disc disease (which everybody gets as they get older). I've done PT in the past and it helps but so does gentle stretching on my own. I've recently had another flare up and 10 minutes of back strengthening exercises, twice daily is definitely helping.
