Book on CD: Importing Issues with Mac/iTunes

I  a book I've wanted to listen to from the library. I have a 6 hr plans ride tomorrow and wanted to listen on the plane but I can't import it into iTunes. I can import a track or two, then for the next track I will get an error message stating "Error occurred while converting Track named  XXX. The required disk cannot be found." This makes no sense- the disk is in the CD drive AND iTunes was able to import prior tracks. Anyone know how to help? I googled this but came up empty. Wish I had an old-fashioned discman right about now.
