Apple icon on back of Iphone is a button!

I never knew this until right now.

Something I never knew, and I was content in my ignorance. After my ordeal with HBOmax and Xfinity yesterday, literally hours long, I plan to skip innovation for awhile. I do love my smart plug, however!

It must only work on recent versions since the Back Tap option doesn't appear in the Accessibility section of Settings on my iPhone.

I think it was added with a more recent update.

I don't think it is a button though.  You can tap anywhere on the back for the programmed action to happen.

I tap twice to get to the home screen - 3 times for a screenshot.  Pretty cool!

Works even with a case on. I’ll see how annoying this gets.

Backtap keeps turning on my magnifier, which I thought might be useful at first, except there’s no easy way to turn it off without shutting down (my cover seems to be too protective OR my taps too gentle or something weird).

I might reassign it, or turn it off. It’s been several months now, and I haven’t needed the magnifier. It’s a very very annoying feature that randomly turns on in my handbag or attaché.

Are there actually people who don't have their phones in cases (which I assume would prevent this)?

It senses the taps, even through a case.

I have mine in a case, but there's a hole in the back to show the Apple Logo. I never knew that might be useful, I thought it was just to show that the phone inside was an iPhone (which I supposed was important for some people).

Yeah, it's responding to the movement, I think, rather than turning the logo into a button.

I just tried setting this up on my new iPhone.  Doesn't seem to be working. I will keep trying.
