I recommend the movie CHICKEN RUN to you. Very funny. All about chickens.
I was at a "natural farm" in North Carolina. They had a large field with tall grass and weeds where they let the chickens run free. They had two very large dogs that very effectively protected the chickens from predators. Also, the chickens cleared the field of ticks and cluked happily when they caught one. Lots of eggs. So, this sounds like a really good way to run a farm. Probably not enough chickens and eggs for our large people population, but still really good. Congrats to those in Maplewood who still have backyard chickens.
Usually there’s a car parked by cluck-U-chicken with some heavy beats resonating with the fans outside…

In what has been deemed a world first, farmers in New Zealand are hoping a classical music concert, featuring the premiere of the Chook Symphony No 1, will benefit their organic, free-range flocks.
It has been shown that enriching an animal's environment with music promotes their relaxation and can improve yields and that animals respond positively to classical music, with some studies claiming that chickens are particularly responsive to music from the baroque era.

Yields dropped when they switched from baroque to a post-modernist style of music, but then they realized if ain't baroque, then don't try to fix it.
