The Maplewood Memorial Park Conservancy is delighted to partner with the Maplewood Garden Club to restore the tree canopy at the park’s main playground at Oakland Road and Valley Road. The Garden Club received $1,000 from the Garden Club of New Jersey for the project under their “Plant Trees: Nature’s Unsung Heroes” program. Due to the prediction of rain on Saturday, we will be planting native trees as well as ground cover on Sunday, October 15, from 9 am-11 am, and we welcome volunteers of all ages to join us. Dress for getting dirty, and bring big or little shovels and gardening gloves if you have them. RSVP to laratomlin.art@gmail.com so we can plan for tasks and supplies, and keep everyone updated about the weather.
